We Said 05:35. A Second Publisher Says 06:35, and the Clock Agrees With It.
Seven hours ago this desk published that a central-bank governor's speech today was at 05:35 UTC and that the publisher's 0635 GMT and 0235 US Eastern stamps were both an hour late. A second publisher independently stamps it 06:35 UTC, and the clock has run fifty minutes past 05:35 with no speech reported. Our conversion arithmetic was right; our choice of which field to trust was wrong, and the rule that would have worked is to go with the majority of a page's own timestamps rather than a prior about which field is reliable. The real window opens twenty-five minutes before the London open at 07:00. The October rate-rise probability now has three consistent readers at roughly one in four.
