We Said the Number Existed in One Place. Our Own Source Had It Eighteen Seconds After the Print.

We published that nine hours after a US release the number existed in only one place.

It was on FXStreet's news wire eighteen seconds after the print — while that same publisher's calendar page still shows n/a, twenty-one hours on. Today's 14:00 pair adds a consensus split where two vendors disagree about the sign, a third calendar an hour early, and a fourth that says in writing it is not allowed to give you the number.

11.48 UTC PMI consensus

Three Splits Resolved. Only the One-Tenth Gap Changed Anything.

Euro area manufacturing printed 52.7 — a beat on one feed, exactly in line on a second, and a six-tenths miss against the house forecast we refused to publish as a consensus.

Three of our four splits resolved; the one-tenth gap was the only one that mattered.

53.3 Is Not a Fifth Consensus. It Is One House's Forecast.

A third number appeared for this morning's euro area manufacturing PMI at 05:48 UTC — 53.3, against 52.6 and 52.7 on the calendars.

It is not a fifth consensus split; it is one house's own forecast, and only the verb tells you so. Meanwhile the euro area services split closed overnight with nobody announcing a revision, and the prior is undisputed at 52.7 on all three readers.

23.15 UTC Richmond Fed consensus

Richmond Missed by 4 Points or 7, Depending on Your Feed

Richmond printed −2 against forecasts of 2 and 5 — so the miss is four points or seven, a 75% difference on a print nobody disputes.

Euro area confidence is worse: the actual itself has three published values, −16.52, −16.5 and −17. We flagged the prior and the danger was in the actual column too. A feed dispute does not corrupt the level, it corrupts the surprise — and four more are on today's board.

06.25 UTC economic calendar consensus

Richmond Is 2, 3 or 5. Euro Confidence Cannot Agree on the Prior.

Three and a half hours before it prints, the Richmond Fed index is forecast at 2, 3 or 5 depending on your feed.

Euro area consumer confidence is worse — one calendar rounds the decimal off and turns a full point of expected deterioration into no change. Both claims we published yesterday rested on one feed.
